First AntMiner S5+ Delivered

Hi Everyone!

The wait is finally over. We received our first AntMiner S5+ and it went online yesterday at night. It is still being tested and after 72 hours we’ll have a more clear idea if it is working as expected or not. We’ll wait 24 hours to get an idea of our average hashrate reported to the pool.

With this addition, our combined hashrate goes from around 13 THs to over 20 THs. We hope over time to continue growing our mining capacity. Our original plan called for the addition of a regular AntMiner S5 each month with our own resources, but with the new version released we are going to have to slow down the purchases due to the significant increase in costs.

If you are interested in participating in any of our offering like this one, simply drop us a line. We offer managed hosting for either a part of the device (pooled) or you can own an entire one. We see several advantages when you host with us your miners: Our electricity rate should be lower than the one most households pay and where we plan to host them there is no VAT, so the import costs are relatively small compared to several countries worldwide. We have control over the configuration so we decide where to mine (Currently Slush’s pool) but can change as we see fit. Because we host in North America, you get certain diversity from miners who are based out of other continents like those located in China, Europe, South America or Africa. Also, as we grow, we hope to get better electric rates too!

Below are a few screenshots of what we have currently. First, you can see our current pool which consists of the S5 and the S5+ we currently have. Combined hashing rate over 20TH/s (closer to 21). After that, we have the screenshot of the miner as soon as it was connected. We are seeing a hash rate lower than the theoretical reported to the pool currently, something around 7.3 TH/s. It is still too early to say, so we are waiting the 72 hours to see if everything works fine and at least 24 hours to get the average hash rate. We were hoping to get at least the average but I guess it is just theoretical. We do see the hash rate jumping all over the place, we had at one point 8.8 TH/s reported over 5 minutes but the average for the hour was 7.5 TH/s.

Any comments or questions, please feel free to drop us a line. We would love to hear any ideas you may have.
